Postdoctoral Research Associate

Exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced biotech service company located in San Diego, California and receive training in cutting-edge, drug-discovery models, imaging, and analysis techniques. Applicants should have a passion for mammalian cell culture and fluorescence microscopy. Successful candidates will work on grant-funded projects as well as internal R&D efforts in a range of different therapeutic areas.

The position is a renewable, 12-month contract position.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Biology, Biological Engineering, or related fields
  • Candidates may have 0-3 years of post-doctoral experience
  • Successful candidates will be adept at multi-tasking, have exceptional attention to detail, and be effective communicators

Preferred

  • Familiarity with fluorescence microscopy
  • Experience with neuroscience or immunology
  • Ability to code in Python or equivalent is a plus

Scientist I/II: Cell Biology Scientist

  • Design and management of cell biology experiments

Business Development Representatives - Boston and San Diego

We are seeking business development representatives to build the sales pipeline, drive sales, and expand business. This position reports into the Senior Director of Business Development.

A successful candidate is excited to learn more about sales or business development and wants to grow with our company. We are looking for someone eager to hunt for new business, grow existing accounts, and manage a sales process for complex, custom solutions. This person will work closely with the more senior members of the team to hunt for new business to help drive revenue and ensure theirs, and the team’s, success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences required; graduate degree is a plus
  • Familiarity with cell biology, CNS and/or imaging
  • 1+ years sales or business development experience in the life sciences market
  • Professional, fluent English is required
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills, solid computer skills (MS Office, Gmail, CRM, etc)
  • Confident, energetic, “hunter” mentality; willing to put in the work to build a territory
  • Willingness to wear multiple hats and help where needed
  • Desire to learn the ins-and-outs of sales for complex, custom solutions
  • Boston representative may be based anywhere in the mid-Atlantic or New England regions with a preference for the Boston area.
  • San Diego representative must be local; hybrid work style

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Using available tools, and suggesting new tools as appropriate, develop a prospecting cadence within the assigned territory to fill sales pipeline for the East territory (Boston representative) and the West territory (San Diego representative).
  • Assist with developing and executing territory- and account-specific prospecting, growth, and sales plan.
  • Provide regular and accurate updates on pipeline and progress towards meeting quotas, both as needed and through CRM system
  • Manage prospecting and sales pipeline and progress of opportunities
  • Manage and expand existing customer base while continuously working to onboard new clients.
  • Travel required
    • Attend trade shows and conferences as needed
    • Up to 20% overnight travel required.

 

Grant and Science Writer

We are seeking a grant and science writer to research and apply to various funding opportunities, including RFAs from governmental and non-profit institutions. This position will include tracking and generating progress reports, scientific blog posts, and various marketing materials. This position reports to and will work closely with the Product Manager and other senior members of the commercial team.

Qualifications

  • Degree in cell biology or related fields with at least 5 years of demonstrated academic or industry experience.
  • Grant writing and administration experience including, for example, SBIR grants from NIH, NSF, and other funding agencies.
  • Friendly and positive demeanour
  • Attention to detail
  • Good at meeting deadlines
  • Excited to take initiative and has a growth mindset
  • Native proficiency in English

Preferred

  • Experience with assay development and optimization of advanced cell-culture models.
  • Experience with high-content imaging
  • Experience with neuroscience
  • Expertise in identifying and communicating with investigators in external alliances who are developing innovative assays for internal use
  • Business development and marketing experience a plus

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue non-dilutive funding opportunities
  • Track and report progress on grant-related projects
  • Keep up with the literature of relevant areas of biology
  • Identify and liaise with external collaborators to develop and execute proposals
  • Assist in writing and generating marketing content
  • Other related duties, as assigned or as necessary
